ArtPlace announced its first round of grants in support of projects designed to support "creative placemaking" that puts the arts at the center of economic revitalization efforts.  The new initiative is administered by the Nonprofit Finance Fund, and is a collaboration between the NEA and many of the major national and regional foundations supporting the arts (Ford, Mellon, Irvine, Kresge, Knight, McKnight, Bloomberg, Rockefeller, and more -- I've linked to individual foundation and NEA news items on the partnership where available).  Letters of interest for round 2 are accepted through 11/15/2011.
